Today is Giving Tuesday Now! This global day of solidarity and support happens every year in the fall, but today’s special edition was organized in response to the COVID-19 pandemic affecting so many. Today GivingTuesday, the groundbreaking global generosity movement, announced #GivingTuesdayNow, a global day of giving and unity, set to take place on May 5, 2020 as an emergency response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19. The day is designed to drive an influx of generosity, citizen engagement, business and philanthropy activation, and support for communities and nonprofits around the world (read more).
Today, Hope 4 All team members are volunteering in the food pantry at Grand Prairie United Charities, an essential service organization that has remained open throughout the crisis to help our neighbors in need. We are also doubling down on our spotlight campaigns for both GPUC and LifeLine for Families. You might have seen that we are hoping to raise $10,000 for rental assistance through a GoFundMe campaign for GPUC and have set up an Amazon Wish List for diapers and formula for LifeLine. Currently, we have raised $225 for GPUC and have received three packages of diapers for LifeLine. In support of #GivingTuesdayNow, all donations to the GPUC GoFundMe and purchases made through the LifeLine Amazon Wish List by midnight on 5/5 will be matched by Hope 4 All up to $5,000!
There are many ways you can give back today including volunteering, making donations, or reaching out to your neighbors for a conversation. You can even volunteer virtually!
